Weekly Announcements

1/29/23

Good evening.  This is Mr. Rice, Principal of Booker T. Washington Learning Center calling with your weekly announcements:

  • Report cards will be sent home this week with students.  If you are new to BTWLC, the student’s base school should mail it home.  If you do not receive it this week, please reach out to Ms. Doss for assistance.

  • Just a friendly reminder of the BTWLC dress code - students should have shirts with a collar and keep it tucked in at all times.

  • Being a new semester, students have a new slate academically with their new classes.  Please encourage your child to keep up with their school work.  If a student is 2 assignments behind and/or they have a grade lower than a “D”, the classroom teacher will make contact with you for additional support.

  • Some revisions have been made to the SCORE orientation packet.  We will begin to implement a “level-like” system called “leagues” that students will follow.  This system will let students gain some privileges to help them transition back to their base school.  Once they have been printed, a new copy will be sent home for each family.  We also updated the disciplinary consequence page.  Nothing was made more severe than in the original packet.

  • If you miss the weekly announcements, they are posted on our website at www.scorecenter.org.

  • We appreciate your continued support of teaching and learning at Booker T. Washington Learning Center.
