Good evening.  This is Mr. Rice, Principal of Booker T. Washington Learning Center calling with your weekly announcements:

  • Progress reports were sent home last week.  If you did not receive your copy, please reach out to the school for a new copy.

  • October is “National Bullying Awareness Month.”  Throughout the month, we will incorporate different mini lessons or activities with students.  This week, the focus is:  “Make friends with someone you don’t know.”  You probably wish someone had done that for you. Be a leader. Take action and don't let anyone at school be in isolation.

  • Tomorrow, we are asking students, faculty, and staff to wear “BLUE” in recognition of bullying prevention.  Let’s work together to make the world a better place for everyone!

  • Looking ahead, the Week of October 10th, BTWLC will observe “PINK Ribbon Week” for Breast Cancer Awareness.  There will be several activities that students can take part in throughout the week.  More information will be forthcoming soon.

  • Also, October 12th will be an early release day district-wide.  BTWLC students will dismiss at 12:30pm.
