Our priority is the safety of our students and staff. In the coming days, we will be conducting our annual Sandy Hook Promise Say Something Anonymous Reporting System program for our school for grades 6-12. We will be training our students on this program on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, during our SEL time.

Say Something is a safety prevention program from Sandy Hook Promise. All schools in North Carolina 6-12 are required to implement this program based on NC statute. Say Something is an anonymous reporting system that lets students, parents, staff, and community members securely share safety concerns. Say Something focuses on students and staff safety by providing a way to report concerning behavior, which then helps schools prevent violence, suicide, bullying, and self-harm, and any other concerning behavior. Students can submit an anonymous tip through an app, website, or phone call when they notice concerning or threatening behavior. The information is shared with our school district crisis team and administrators so they can help our students. You can view our website and look for the “Say Something App for More Information.” Students can begin reporting on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, and they can find the information to access the app, phone number, or email on our school and district website. Just look for the Say Something Icon!

Thank you for your support!

7/12/23

We hope everyone has an enjoyable summer.  We will reach out to new SCORE Program families in August to schedule orientation.  Dates are August 17th, 22nd, or 24th at 9:30am.  Orientation should last about 1.5 hours at the most.  Parents and students are required to attend.

Returning students will receive orientation on the first day of school and will be provided an updated orientation packet to take home as there have been changes made for this school year.

As always, thank you for supporting teaching and learning at Booker T. Washington Learning Center.
